MAGGIE'S STORY
A lifelong resident of North Bay, Maggie Horsfield has built her career as a leader and public servant. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Global Development Challenges from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Political Science and History from Nipissing University.
Currently serving as Deputy Mayor and Councillor for the City of North Bay, Maggie is actively involved in shaping the community. She contributes her expertise to several boards, including the North Bay Police Service Board, the District of Nipissing Social Services Board (DNSSAB), Heritage North Bay Board, and the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM). Her dedication extends further, as she has been Chair of the Lindsay Weld Centre for Children Board of Directors since 2021.
Passionate about fostering a sustainable and vibrant city, Maggie is an active member of Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay and co-chairs the North Bay Communities in Bloom Organizing Committee for 2025. She was also recently appointed to the Municipal Heritage Committee for the City of North Bay.
At Nipissing University, she works as the Government and Foundations Relations Officer in the President’s Office, building partnerships that advance educational initiatives. In recognition of her contributions, Maggie was honored with the Nipissing University Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023 and the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year Award in 2020.
Maggie resides in North Bay’s West End. Deeply committed to her city and its future, Maggie continues to champion causes that enrich the lives of North Bay’s residents.
